Dr Andy Watkins provides each patient with a comprehensive diagnostic Psychiatric evaluation. Each evaluation is expected to last 75-90 minutes. Dr Watkins' will review your medical, social, and family history. She will also evaluate your lifestyle to include eating patterns, nutritional status, and current patterns of coping mechanisms. Dr Andy may order labs and or request records from your medical provider. Her strategy is to look at the entire health of the patient in order to develop a tailored strategy for symptom reduction and healing that is unique to each patient. Follow-up appointments may include 60 minute or 30 minute sessions based upon your individualized treatment plan.
Dr Andy's goal is to invite her patients on a journey of healing. She has a unique perspective on the impact of Nutrition on Mental Health and how it contributes to the overall wellness of the individual. In addition to medication management, she will cater your treatment plan to include dietary recommendations, nervous system Restorative techniques, supplements, and behavioral therapies. Dr Andy may recommend seeking individual therapy with a provider depending on your needs. She will cater to your current lifestyle to develop a treatment plan that works for you. She will meet you where you are to encourage a sense of agency and empowerment of your personal healing journey.
Based upon your treatment goals and individual needs, psychotherapy may be the best Psychiatric Treatment approach for you. Dr Andy Watkins-McCall uses evidence based treatment approaches included CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Diagnostic Behavioral Therapy), Supportive Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy. Sessions are offered weekly and bi-weekly based upon your needs. Dr Andy Watkins-McCall will encourage lifestyle management therapeutic techniques at each session that will also include nutrition guidance, recipe recommendations, and the implementation of behavioral changes to improve overall wellness.
Dr Watkins-McCall has over a decade of expert knowledge in applying evidence based practices in treating psychiatric illnesses. She offers 30 minute and 50 minute medication management sessions. She will consult with your therapist and or primary care physician to develop a treatment plan that addresses your whole health. Dr Watkins will include nutritional based-strategies as an adjunct to medication management to contribute to overall healing.
Dr Watkins-McCall does not prescribe controlled substance medications to include stimulants, pain medications, and benzodiazepines. Some examples of these medications include Xanax, Adderall, and Percocet. She will work with you to establish a treatment plan that aligns with your goals and treats your symptoms safely with non-controlled medications.
Dr Watkins-McCall welcomes the opportunity to speak with engaged audiences at your work place, community setting, or for small groups. Lecture topics may include: Nutrition and Mental Health, Educating Yourself on Mental Health Wellness, and Strategies on how to reduce burn-out. In addition, Dr Watkins has extensive knowledge on the impact of race and culture on the presentation of Mental Health symptoms in diverse populations. She has been featured on the Dana Being Dana show in Naperville, presented at several Health Institutions, and made appearences on Podcast related to Community Mental Health. Dr Watkins-McCall has served as an expert consultant for the development and growth of several Psychiatric facilities. Her portfolio includes the operational ground up clinical work flow to phase one opening of an SUD Residential Facility, Outpatient Telehealth practices, and Outpatient Psychiatric Treatment facilities. She has served as mentor and provided review of policies and protocols at all levels of care for psychiatric treatment to inform improved patient outcomes, reduce waste, improve clinical work flow efficiencies, as well as develop processes to enhance team engagement and support the hiring of skilled staff to the meet the needs of behavioral health program. Coaching is accessible to clients Nationwide. Following an initial consultation, Dr Watkins-McCall will make work with you to develop a coaching program that fits your needs. Coaching includes 60 minute and 30 minute follow-up sessions. Nutrition guidance, meal planning, and catered recipes are including as apart of the coaching program. There are 2 coaching plans offered:
Intensive 6 Week Coaching: 6 weeks of High Touch Nutrition Guidance, Behavioral Modification Techniques, and Nervous System Restoring strategies to reduce burn-out, ease the nervous system, and improve health. Please note, a 6 week commitment is required for this coaching program.
Executive Intensive Coaching : 12 week session package that includes an Initial evaluation followed by 12 weeks of 60 minute follow-up sessions plus intermittent check-ins, one on one strategy recommendations in between appointments to improve overall health and lead to lasting results. This coaching Package is for High Achieving individuals who seek to restore Nervous System Balance and improve performance in personal and work life settings. A combination of strategies including Lifestyle and diet recommendations, somatic movement exercises, and therapeutic techniques to optimize brain health will be applied. In order to guarantee availability, a 12 week commitment is required at the time of engagement.
